Let us tag subject titles on a per user basis (so my filters wont effect yours or the other way around). Fair game though if they keep posting in the wrong sections on purpose. Something like the beginner's forum could be the place for all MMO style topics, newbies and so forth. I believe it should not have a category, but be called "Introductory Forum" - "Post here if you are new to unity."
Not because we want to feel bigger than them, but because there's just so many early steps you need to absorb before you can even understand why you would want a script in the first place.īack on topic: I think a clear "beginner's forum" is mandatory. The real problem is that you're getting questions which are like: "I don't want to look at the tutorials, just gimmie the script" and this rightfully pisses everyone off who did go through the tuts.
That doesn't stop me asking silly questions, because "there's no such thing as a silly question, only a silly answer". When I was a kid, 8 bit computers would probably not be able to handle this forum, let alone Unity, and so "doing it the hard way" is natural to me. These guys are the future of the game industry. Their expectations are based on what they have experienced before, or what they haven't experienced.įor each batch of new kids coming, a tiny percentage of them will stay and grind it out.
